USI/ Asteelflash is activity looking for a talented Director of Materials to join our leadership team here in Milpitas, CA.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring supply chain "best practices" across all facets of operations, from tactical and transactional supply chain execution to managing the entire process from forecasting to the logistics of material shipments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing SC Strategies in support of major programs, proposals, in support of daily operations while working in cooperation with program management, business development, engineering, and other functions. This will include but not limited to providing selling/marketing support for pursuits by providing supply chain subject matter expertise.
- Direct responsibility for the SC staff within AFG Milpitas and collaborative across other matrix areas to ensure proper management and execution of all supply chain activities (purchasing, planning, WH management, coaching, work assignments, utilization, and training requirements.
- Delivering SC subject matter expertise in response to customer-focused marketing solution development and representing SC functions in proposals, client discussions, supplier discussion and executive management presentations.
- Work with buyers/planners to develop standard client communication and reporting
- Train/educate/execute smart buying strategies
- Manage VMI / BIM programs to ensure proper support of client, operational upsides and in alignment with forecast / demand to minimize inventory liabilities for clients and AFG.
- Develop processes and procedures for best practices in planning and procurement
- Set appropriate proper MRP setting for efficiency and cost savings
- Assist with cost reduction efforts and ECOs on existing product lines
- Manage the corporate AES program to ensure continuity with corporate program and policies
- Manage implementation of new projects/clients
- Work to keep all MRP / Supply chain ERP system parameters in alignment
- Provide logistics / transportation support and quotes for new business quotes and in support of daily operations
- Provide solid negotiation experience in support of buyers/planners. This position does not include supplier sourcing of products but will require day-to-day negotiations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or level of knowledge that would be obtains from a Bachelor's degree.
- 10 years' experience in contract manufacturing in all areas of supply chain

This position will be 100% onsite. The expected based salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $155,000-$180,000 annually, dependent on specific skills and work experience. Apply now!
