Job overview:
We are seeking a seasoned HR Associate Director (G10)/ Director (G11) to lead and manage all HR operations in Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with deep knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and engineer recruitment across these markets. The HR Associate Director/ Director will work closely with country leadership and global HR teams to drive alignment with business goals and ensure the implementation of best-in-class HR policies and programs.
There are 3,500 employees in Taiwan, 3 in Japan and 15 in Hongkong.
Role and responsibility:
- Lead and oversee all HR operations for Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation & benefits, and compliance.
- Develop and implement regional HR strategies that support overall business goals and align with global HR frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on HR matters, including workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, and mitigate HR-related risks through proactive policy and process management.
- Enhance employer branding, develop more channels for engineer recruitments to support business ramp.
- Oversee talent development programs to strengthen leadership capabilities and employee growth in each country.
- Manage and develop local HR teams and shape learning organization culture.
- Lead HR team’s digital transformation to make HR processes more efficiently and data-driven decision making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-country HR operations. HR managerial experience of top EMS/ Semiconductor companies or company’s revenue US$1B+ preferred.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR practices in Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills in English.
- Experience in a multinational or regional corporate environment is highly preferred.
- Proven records to lead HR team’s digital transformation and learning organization. Proven records of the mass engineer recruitment in Taiwan.
