Junior Thermal Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Thermal & Liquid Cooling Design
• Assist in the design of liquid cold plates, heat sinks, manifolds, and cooling loops for electronic systems.
• Support system level thermal architecture development (component → module → system).
• Participate in coolant selection, flow rate definition, and pressure drop considerations.
Simulation & Analysis
• Conduct thermal and CFD simulations (steady/transient) to evaluate temperature, flow distribution, and pressure drop.
• Analyze hotspots, thermal margins, and cooling performance under various operating conditions.
• Correlate simulation results with experimental data.
Testing & Validation
• Support thermal characterization and validation testing, including:
o Temperature measurement (thermocouples, IR camera)
o Flow, pressure, and leakage tests
• Assist in test plan creation, data collection, and reporting.
Cross Functional Collaboration
• Work with mechanical teams on DFM/DFA considerations for cooling hardware.
• Support electrical and system teams in defining thermal requirements and limits.
• Interface with manufacturing and suppliers during prototype build and refinement.
Documentation & Engineering Support
• Prepare engineering documentation, including design reports, test summaries, and technical presentations.
• Maintain thermal models, assumptions, and design records.
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in:
o Mechanical Engineering
o Thermal Engineering
o or a related field
• Fresh graduates are welcome
Technical Fundamentals
• Solid understanding of:
o Heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation)
o Fluid mechanics
o Basic thermodynamics
Tools & Skills
• Exposure to thermal or CFD tools such as:
o ANSYS Icepak / Fluent
o Siemens FloTHERM
o COMSOL
o or similar (academic experience acceptable)
• Basic skills in Excel, data analysis, and technical reporting.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
