USI/ Asteelflash is activity looking for a talented Engineering Manager to join our leadership team here in Milpitas, CA.
The ideal candidate will lead and empower a team of engineers to excel in manufacturing operations by fostering innovation, enhancing processes, and leveraging advanced technologies. They will focus on improving production capabilities, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in PCBA and Box Build assembly. Additionally, they will drive strategic advancements in tools. processes, and automation while cultivating a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role also involves ensuring the development of robust manufacturing capabilities, implement best practices, and support team growth to meeting evolving production demands and customer expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor and coach a team of Manufacturing, Process and Test engineers for operational excellence
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality for PCBA and Box Build assembly
- Develop and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap to develop production capabilities and incorporate new technologies
- Drive best practices for PCBA and Box Build Design For excellence (including DFM, DFT, DFA and DFP)
- Evaluate new manufacturing equipment and assess return on investment
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation PCBA and Box Build assembly processes
- Develop individual goals and tailored training plans supporting the team and project needs
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to production efficiency, yield, and cycle time.
- Review labor quotes for existing and new customers
- Serve as the technical expert and point of contact for manufacturing engineering issues, providing guidance and support to resolve complex problems.
- Strong knowledge of PCBA manufacturing process (SMT, wave, wash, testing, conformal coating, press-fit, heat staking, resistance welding, and underfill) and team management experience are required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or level of knowledge that would be obtains from a Bachelor's degree.

This position will be 100% onsite. The expected based salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $155,000-$180,000 annually, dependent on specific skills and work experience. Apply now!
