USI/Asteelflash is actively seeking a dedicated Planner to join our team here in Milpitas, CA.
USI/Asteelflash is a leading Contract Electronics Manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services. We are committed to excellence and continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role and will be responsible for supporting internal and external audits, managing the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) tracker, overseeing the Calibration tracker, preparing for audits, and compiling monthly Quality KPI reviews.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules to accommodate delays, shortages, or changes in customer priorities.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to resolve scheduling conflicts and meet delivery commitments.
  • Ensure timely release of work orders and coordinate with SMT assembly, testing, and final packaging operations.
  • Maintain accurate data in the ERP system (e.g., work orders, lead times, production statuses).
  • Track and report key planning metrics (OTD, capacity utilization, backlog).
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by coordinating early builds and ensuring alignment between Engineering and Production.
  • Assist in Quick-Turn planning for expedited customer orders requiring accelerated lead times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of production planning experience, preferably in SMT or electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; experience with AGILE, QAD, FTPC is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Ability to balance priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with NPI or prototype planning (preferred)
  • Familiarity with quick-turn or contract manufacturing models
  • APICS certification or coursework is a plus 
This position will be 100% onsite. The expected based salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $75,000-$90,000 annually, dependent on specific skills and work experience.
